Report 15 minutes before meals to the cooks to find out what to set on tables.
1 Before meals -
a set tables - cutlery, cups, side plates, salt, sugar, milk, butter, jam etc...
b bring into dining room container for dirty cutlery.
c Bring in scrap container and scrapers.
2 During meals -
clear first course plates and cutlery onto serving tables.
3 After meals - (in this order)
a take dirty pl ates etc... to servery table
b remove jam, butter, salt etc... to servery
c food scraps to be emptied into scrap tin for pig food (note : no plastic, paper, tins,
glass etc... in food scrap container)
d wash down tables with clean cloths
e sweep floor ( chairs upside down on tables )
f after breakfast, dining room and kitchen floors to be damp mopped with hot water
and disinfectant
g tidy shelves
4 On the last day of the visit stack chairs and tables, lock fire exit door, clean fridges & freezer, remove ashes and leave fresh kindling & wood by fireplace.
1 Report for duty immediately after the meal
2 Adults to be responsible for preparation of the hot water and clean tea towels
3 Children to rinse, wash and dry dishes and cutlery
4 Return all dishes and cutlery to shelves as marked
5 Put used tea towels neatly on end of bench. On last day, wash teatowels and leave
hanging in drying room.
6 Sweep out kitchen. On last day clean stoves, pantry, cupboards, shelves and utensils. Remove all food, leave fridge and freezer switched on.
7 Remove wet and dry rubbish to rubbish bin stands by gate.
1 Immediately after breakfast clean all camp areas of litter.
2 Empty all paper bins into incinerator - dormitories, common room, outside bins, kitchen.
Non burnable rubbish to the rubbish bins by the gate.
3 Clean toilets - pans scrubbed with brushes
- remove cobwebs and rubbish
- wash all hand basins
- floors to be hosed and scrubbed with hard broom
- sprinkle disintectant over floor of toilets
1 cm of disinfectant from a bottle mixed with water is sufficient.
No disinfectant is to go down the toilets.
1 Prepare any vegetables or fruit needed.
2 When finished dispose of peelings in pig food drum and clean the containers out.
3 Check all peelers and knives.
4 Clean the area thoroughly.
1 Lightly brush all floors and remove dirt and dust. Vacuum as needed.
2 Damp dust window sills and ledges.
3 Remove any cobwebs inside and outside on windows, walls and ceilings.
4 See that all beds, bags, towels and shoes are tidy.
5 Ensure books etc... are returned to proper places.
6 Vacuum clean all floors in dormitories, corridors, chalets and huts at the end of the visit.
7 On the last day tilt mattresses on bunks, check 1 pillow on bunk, remove any rubbish.
